In traditional medicine, bayberry extract is used as a tea for its nourishing and exciting properties and is used to treat diarrhea. The leaves are used to destroy parasites, the leaves and stems are used to treat fever, and the roots are used as plasters. Dried root bark is commonly used in medicine and as a dyeing/tanning agent.
