Basic Introduction of Myricetin Powder

Myricetin, also known as Cannabiscetin, Myricetol, is an effective ingredient extracted from the stems and leaves of rattan tea or bayberry bark and leaves. The pharmacological activity of scavenging free radicals, and the pharmacological effects of myricetin, a compound substituted by flavonoids to scavenging free radicals, as well as protecting the liver, reducing enzymes and reducing yellowing, and improving immune function. It is generally believed that other flavonoids (such as kaempferol or quercetin) are more involved in anti-osteoporosis and bone health.

Myricetin powder is a kind of polyhydroxyflavonol compound, it is yellow needle-like crystals. The ultraviolet spectrum has maximum absorption at 376.5nm (band I) and 254 (band II). The infrared spectrum shows cholesterol (3575, 3380, 3255cm- 1), conjugated carbonized group (1646cm-1), double bond and aromatic ring carbon skeleton vibration (1660, 1550, 1454cm-1) absorption.

This compound dissolves methanol, ethanol and toluene, slightly degrades toluene, does not dissolve water, petroleum ether (60-90℃), chloroform, toluene and n-hexane, and has poor resistance to photolysis. It is relatively stable under acidic conditions, but moderate It can be easily destroyed in sexual and alkaline environment.

Function of Bayberry Extract Myricetin Powder

1. Similar to kaempferol, myricetin appears to reduce blood sugar levels by increasing muscle cell uptake and increasing liver glycogen synthesis.

2. Myricetin has been shown to inhibit the uptake of glucose into cultured rat fat cells.

3. In vitro studies have shown that myricetin can prevent oxidative damage of osteoblasts, and may prevent osteoporosis through this mechanism and other mechanisms (such as increased calcium deposition). Note that the concentration of this effect is 20uM.

4. When studying dietary correlation, higher myricetin intake seems to be associated with a lower risk of prostate cancer.
