Nardostachys,perennial herb, 20-35 cm high, with a strong aroma of turpentine. Medicinal parts is the roots and rhizomes of Nardostachys chinensis Batal. The main root is long cylindrical, slightly fleshy, single or branched, brownish black. The rhizome is short, with a few brown leaf-based fibers. Ye Jisheng, each cluster has 6 to 9 leaves, linear inverse lanceolate or lanceolate, 7 to 18 cm long, 0.4 to 1 cm wide, the whole, the main veins are 3 parallel. The flower stems have 3 to 4 pairs of bract leaves and are 2 to 6 cm long, the smaller the larger. Cymes are mostly compact round-headed, total bracts 2, long ovate; calyx 5-lobed, teeth extremely small; corolla fuchsia, tube-shaped, base bulging on one side, apex slightly unequal 5-staple; Piece; ovary inferior.
