What is Pure Melatonin Powder?
Pure melatonin powder is naturally produced in the body and is a hormone that helps regulate the body's sleep-to-wake cycle and various hormones in the body. It is made from the amino acid tryptophan.
The body produces melatonin in the dark (in preparation for sleep) and suppresses it in the light, helping to improve sleep.

Functions of Pure Melatonin Powder
1. Shift work
Although night shift work disrupts circadian rhythms, there is currently no evidence that melatonin can adjust sleep schedules in people who work at night and sleep during the day.
2. Sleep problems associated with blindness
Pure melatonin powder may improve sleep disturbances in blind people.
3. Delayed sleep phase syndrome
Melatonin has been used in people with delayed sleep phase syndrome. Studies have shown that using it reduces the time it takes to fall asleep and prolongs the time it takes to fall asleep, improving sleep after four weeks of daily intake.
4. Sleep problems associated with developmental disorders
There have been some preliminary studies and case reports on the use of melatonin in children with disorders that cause sleep difficulties, such as autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, or epilepsy.
5. Time difference
Travel and business trips across time zones can disrupt the circadian rhythm. Evidence suggests that melatonin can reduce some jet lag symptoms, especially when traveling eastward or across five or more time zones. Melatonin can improve daytime alertness, motor coordination, and to a lesser extent daytime fatigue.
6. Insomnia
Melatonin can reduce the time it takes to fall asleep, but only by about 12 minutes. The best time to take melatonin is between half an hour and two hours before bedtime, and the effect is more pronounced in older adults.
Precautions:
Short-term use of melatonin does not appear to have side effects, but the side effects and safety of long-term or regular use of melatonin are unknown. Some experts believe the doses commonly found in melatonin supplements (3 to 5 mg) are too high and consider doses in the 0.1 to 0.5 mg range to be more reasonable.
Pure melatonin powder should not be taken by children or adolescents because of concerns that melatonin supplements may adversely affect gonadal development. High doses of melatonin may have an inhibitory effect on ovulation. Pregnant and breastfeeding women and women trying to conceive should avoid melatonin.
Melatonin Side Effects:
Melatonin side effects include drowsiness, headache, dizziness, vivid dreams, short-term mood changes and temporary reductions in concentration and balance, abdominal cramps, nausea and vomiting, decreased blood pressure, and, rarely, hallucinations or delusions, Increased risk of bleeding. Melatonin may also affect blood sugar and insulin levels and immune function.
