What is Pure Stevia Extract Powder?
Stevia is the name of a leafy herb, named for its sweet leaves, known for its sweetener. Pure stevia extract powder, the main components are stevioside and stevioside, are the main active components of its sweet taste. Stevia is more than 40 times sweeter than sugar, but does not affect blood sugar levels, making it the first choice for healthy sugar replacement in modern society. With the demand for weight loss in modern society, many people begin to control the intake of carbohydrates, and more and more countries use stevia as a sweetener and food additive. In 2011, the European Union allowed 27 countries to use stevia.
Types of Stevia
Depending on the level of processing, stevia can occur in three forms.
1. Green-leaf stevia: This is the least processed form of stevia. It is 30-40 times sweeter than sugar and has a slightly bitter taste.
2. Stevia Extract: Its extract is 200 times sweeter than sugar and has relatively less bitterness compared to green leaf stevia.
3. Modified Stevia: This is highly processed stevia that contains GMO ingredients. It is 200-400 times sweeter than sugar.
Function:
1. Helps control diabetes
In contrast to sucrose, which is found in regular table sugar, stevia sweetens foods in a similar way to sugar, but it contains stevioside, a non-carbohydrate glycoside compound. When stevioside is broken down, the glucose-containing particles are absorbed by bacteria in the colon, rather than being absorbed into the bloodstream and affecting glucose levels in the body.
2. Helps lose weight
Pure stevia extract powder may be low in calories and 40-300 times sweeter than sugar. This means that people can eat foods like cakes, cookies and candies made with stevia without worrying about getting a lot of calories from sugar. It also helps control excess sugar content in children's diets.
3. Adjustable blood pressure
Steviol is a type of glycoside, but there are other glycosides in stevia that actually relax blood vessels, increase urination, and promote the removal of sodium from the body. This means less stress on the cardiovascular system and blood pressure may drop, protecting heart health and preventing certain diseases such as atherosclerosis, heart attack and stroke.
4. Potential anti-cancer ability
Stevia may be rich in antioxidant compounds, making it an ideal dietary supplement for the prevention of various cancers, including pancreatic cancer. It has also been reported to inhibit the formation of hydroperoxides in sardine oil with greater potency than L-alpha-tocopherol or green tea extract. Antioxidants also help prevent premature aging, cognitive dysfunction, and more.
5. May Lower Cholesterol Levels
Studies have shown that consuming stevia significantly reduces bad LDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels and increases HDL cholesterol levels.
6. May Help Maintain Oral Health
Pure stevia extract powder has been found to reduce the formation of bacteria in the mouth, making it a popular addition to toothpastes and mouthwashes. It also prevents tooth decay and gingivitis.
7. May Help Improve Skin Care
Stevia can be used to treat skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis. Its topical application inhibits the spread of bacteria and acts as a steroid in these cases.
8. May prevent osteoporosis
Unlike sugar, stevia may help increase bone mineral density and treat osteoporosis.
Side Effect:
1. Unsafe varieties: It's important to note that while stevia in its leaf and extract forms is safe, their health effects are unclear and more research is needed.
2. Diabetes and hypotension: Pure stevia extract powder is recommended that diabetics and hypotensives monitor blood sugar levels and blood pressure, respectively, after consuming stevia. There are cases where things get worse. It is strongly recommended that you consult your doctor before adding it to your diet, especially if you have either condition.
3. Allergic reactions: People who are allergic to ragweed, marigold, daisy and related plants may experience allergic symptoms. Additionally, some people complain of bloating, cramping, and occasional dizziness or headaches after consuming stevia. These are rare and it remains a safe and beneficial sweetener and plant additive for people all over the world!
How to use and store:
You can use stevia leaves, leaf powder, or liquid form directly as a sugar substitute in a variety of foods:
1. Beverages - coffee and tea;
2. Dairy products - yogurt and ice cream;
3. Packaged food - pickles, sauces, soft drinks and candies;
4. Bakery products - breads, cakes and desserts;
5. You can also use it to cook various dishes at home.
Note: Raw stevia has a long shelf life when stored in a cool, dry place. Although exposure to moisture may cause clumping, it is still safe to eat.
