Capryllglycone is the main component of dermal structural proteins and plays an extremely important role in the skin, one of which is to balance pH values. The reason why the pH of the skin is around 5.5 is because it contains various weak acids, proteins, and fats.
When different components react with the fat proteins in the skin, these proteins undergo decarboxylation reactions, thereby changing the pH value of the skin. A pH value that is too high or too low is not good, especially for acne skin. Many studies have concluded that the pH value of acne prone skin is relatively high. The presence of octylglycine can provide free carboxyl groups and maintain the balance of skin pH.
