1.As Pesticides & Bactericide
Fructus Cnidii Extract as a Phytogenous Pesticides and insecticide not only has insecticidal activity but also has bactericidal activity with broad-spectrum. the active ingredient "Osthole" in Fructus Cnidii Extract has contact with killing aphids and cabbage worms of cruciferous plants, meanwhile have good inhibition on Botrytis cinerea, Phyllosticta, Phomopsis asparagi, etc. also as can be appliable in keeping fruit and vegetable fresh.
2. Anti-pruritic
The antipruritic mechanism of extracts from Cnidium Monnieri is related to the stabilization of the mast cell membrane and inhibition of histamine release from skin mast cells, which has an obvious antipruritic effect. Experiments have shown that the active ingredient R2 of Cnidium Monnieri can significantly increase the itch-causing threshold of histamine phosphate in guinea pigs, significantly inhibit the itchy skin reaction induced by 4-aminopyridine in mice, inhibit the release of histamine from mast cells in skin tissues, and significantly counteract the swelling of the auricle in mice caused by xylene. The combination of serpentine and other coumarins blocked the signal transduction pathway caused by substance P and replaced the itch awareness to achieve the anti-itch effect.
3. Anti-inflammatory effect
In vitro experiments in mice showed that Cnidium Monnieri and Cnidium Monnieri is could inhibit the swelling of mouse ear shell caused by xylene and the increase of capillary permeability in mouse abdominal cavity caused by acetic acid, and significantly inhibit granuloma in mice. The anti-inflammatory effect of C. serrulata was achieved by inhibiting intracellular calcium flow and increasing the level of cyclic guanosine monophosphate, which affected the content of PG, NO, and MDA, and the activity of nitric oxide synthase. It has also been reported abroad that it affects the central nervous system by inhibiting peripheral inflammatory substances and achieves anti-inflammatory effects.
4. Antibacterial effect
The antimicrobial effect of Cnidium Monnieri on the clinical isolates of Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Escherichia coli is obvious. The extracts of Cnidium Monnieri have an antibacterial effect on Mycoplasma solani in vitro, and its minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) value is 62.5~125μg/mL, and also can significantly reduce the pathogenicity of residual strains of Staphylococcus aureus.
