Physical and Chemical Properties

Monobenzone is a colorless solid classified as hydroquinone monobenzyl ether. Monobenzone is soluble in alcohol, benzene and ether, and almost insoluble in water. 

Monobenzone is a decolorizing agent that has the effect of enhancing the rate of elimination of melanin secreted by skin cells, and studies have shown that the molecular mechanism of its action may be related to tyrosinase.

melanin in the skin, and restores the skin to a healthy color without destroying the melanocytes, thus acting as a depigmenting agent. Clinically, it is mainly used for the treatment of hyperpigmentation, such as all kinds of pigmentation, age spots, vitiligo, melanoma and so on.

Function

1.Monobenzone Powder is a compound used as a topical drug for medical depigmentation.
2.Monobenzone powder decreases the excretion of melanin from melanocytes. The same action is thought to be responsible for the depigmenting effect of the drug in humans.
3.Monobenzone Powder may cause destruction of melanocytes and permanent depigmentation.
4.The epidermis is normal except for the absence of identifiable melanocytes.
