Paclitaxel is a potent anticancer medication which can promote microtubule (MT) assembly, inhibit MT depolymerization, and change MT dynamics required for mitosis and cell proliferation. |
Paclitaxel is a complex secondary metabolite extracted from the bark of Taxus taxus. It is also the only drug known to promote microtubule polymerization and stabilize polymerized microtubules. The isotope tracer showed that paclitaxel was only bound to the polymerized microtubules and did not react with the unpolymerized tubulin dimer.
After contact with paclitaxel, cells will accumulate a large number of microtubules in the cell, and the accumulation of these microtubules interferes with various functions of the cell, especially the cell division stops in the mitosis period and blocks the normal division of the cell. Through Ⅱ-Ⅲ clinical studies, paclitaxel is mainly suitable for ovarian cancer and breast cancer, lung cancer, colorectal cancer, melanoma, head and neck cancer, lymphoma, brain tumor also have a certain effect.
The treatment of ovarian cancer and platinum resistant refractory ovarian cancer, breast cancer has a good effect, the treatment of prostate cancer, head and neck cancer, esophageal cancer, germ cell tumor, endometrial cancer, lymphoma, bladder cancer, upper digestive tract cancer, small cell and non-small cell lung cancer has a good prospect.
1. Broad-spectrum anti-tumor plant drugs for ovarian cancer, breast cancer, etc.
2. Broad-spectrum anti-tumor botanics, used for the treatment of ovarian cancer, breast cancer and other diseases.
3. For the treatment of metastatic breast cancer and metastatic ovarian cancer. Broad-spectrum antitumor plant drug used to treat ovarian cancer, breast cancer and other diseases
